At GalleryGrade, we believe in keeping things simple and transparent. Our app helps you find your best photos using AI analysis, and we've designed it with your privacy in mind.
The Basics: What We Do (and Don't Do)
The good news: We don't store your photos. When you select a photo for analysis, it's sent securely to OpenAI for scoring, then immediately deleted. We don't keep copies, and we don't build profiles about you.
How Your Photos Are Handled
When you choose photos to analyze:
- They're encrypted and sent directly to OpenAI's API for analysis
- You receive your scores and explanations instantly
- The photos are automatically deleted after processing
- We never store or backup your images
Information That Stays on Your Device
Your analysis history and app settings remain private on your iPhone, protected by iOS security. This includes:
- Your photo scores and analysis results
- App preferences and settings
- Usage tracking for your subscription limits
Subscription Management
Your subscription is handled entirely through Apple's App Store. We simply verify your subscription status to unlock premium features. All payment information stays with Apple—we never see it.
Technical Details We Track
To keep the app running smoothly and enforce subscription limits, we track:
- How many photos you've analyzed (for subscription tiers)
- Basic app diagnostics (app version, iOS version)
- Subscription status verification
This information is minimal and used only to provide you with the service you're paying for.
Third-Party Services We Use
OpenAI
We partner with OpenAI to provide the AI analysis. When you analyze a photo:
- It's sent to OpenAI for processing only
- OpenAI's privacy policy applies: https://openai.com/privacy/
- Photos are not used for AI training or any other purpose
Cloudflare
We use Cloudflare's infrastructure to securely route your requests. No personal data is stored—it simply helps deliver the service reliably.
Your Control
You're always in charge:
- Photo Access: Control which photos the app can access in your iOS Settings
- Clear History: Delete your analysis history anytime within the app
- Subscription: Manage or cancel through your Apple ID settings
Data Security
We take security seriously:
- All connections are encrypted with HTTPS
- Request integrity is verified with HMAC signatures
- Your device's built-in iOS security protects local data
